About This Game:
Shadowrun: Hong Kong – Extended Edition is a story-heavy tactical RPG set in a cyberpunk future where advanced technology exists alongside magic, spirits, trolls, elves, and other fantasy elements. The player returns to Hong Kong after receiving an urgent message from an adoptive father and becomes involved in a mystery tied to the city’s criminal and supernatural worlds.
The campaign places strong emphasis on dialogue, companions, investigation, and role-playing choices. A custom character can specialize in firearms, melee combat, magic, summoning, drones, cyberware, or Matrix hacking, while recruited teammates bring their own abilities and personal stories.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat uses turn-based encounters with action points, cover, weapon ranges, spells, grenades, drones, and character-specific skills. Deckers can enter the Matrix for separate hacking sequences, Shamans summon spirits, and cyberware can enhance physical abilities at the cost of magical Essence.
Between missions, players explore hubs, speak with contacts, upgrade equipment, spend Karma on skills and attributes, and choose how to respond during conversations. The Extended Edition also includes the Shadows of Hong Kong bonus campaign, which continues the story after the main adventure.
