About This Game:
Dungeon Siege 2 expands the party-based action RPG formula of the original with deeper character development, more elaborate quests, additional combat abilities, and a larger focus on individual party members. The story begins during a conflict involving the warlord Valdis and quickly sends the player on a journey to stop a growing threat connected to an ancient magical artifact.
The adventure takes place across forests, deserts, towns, underground complexes, temples, and ruined locations filled with enemies and treasure. Players can build a party from numerous recruitable characters, each capable of developing into a specialized fighter, ranger, nature mage, combat mage, or a combination of different disciplines.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat occurs in real time with the player issuing commands to individual characters or the entire group. Characters gain experience in the combat disciplines they use and can invest points into skill trees that unlock passive bonuses and powerful abilities. This gives players considerably more control over party builds than in the first game.
Quests frequently involve exploring large areas, activating ancient mechanisms, defeating bosses, locating important objects, and helping characters found throughout the world. Equipment drops provide weapons, armor, magical items, and set pieces that can significantly improve party members. Pets can also join the group and become stronger by consuming equipment.
