About This Game:
Farlanders is a turn-based colony-building game about establishing permanent human settlements on Mars. Players transform barren terrain into usable land, construct habitats and production buildings, connect infrastructure, and maintain enough food, water, power, and living space to support a growing population.
Terraforming is handled through terrain-modification tools that can create useful land formations or alter the environment before construction. Limited space and resource placement make city layout a puzzle, especially when several production chains must operate close to the areas they depend on.
How the Gameplay Works
Each turn allows players to place structures, manage resources, and use available terraforming patterns. Residential buildings need support from food, water, electricity, and workplaces, while industrial structures convert raw resources into materials required for continued expansion.
As settlements grow, players gain access to additional technologies and more advanced buildings. Underground layers provide another area for expansion and resource extraction. Campaign missions introduce different objectives and terrain conditions, while procedural maps provide additional colony-building challenges.
