About This Game:
Final Fantasy IX is a turn-based role-playing game that follows thief Zidane Tribal after a kidnapping mission becomes part of a larger conflict involving kingdoms, magical weapons, and the mysterious origins of several party members.

The game returns to a more traditional fantasy style with castles, airships, black mages, summoners, knights, and crystals while telling a character-focused story about identity, mortality, and belonging.

How the Gameplay Works
Battles use the Active Time Battle system, with characters choosing attacks, magic, items, summons, or special commands when their gauges fill. Equipment teaches abilities that become permanently learned after enough Ability Points are earned.

Each party member has a distinct role, such as thief, black mage, white mage, knight, or dragoon. Exploration includes towns, dungeons, world-map travel, side quests, Chocobo activities, and the Tetra Master card game.
