About This Game:
God of War 1 introduces Kratos, a Spartan warrior serving the Greek gods while haunted by the consequences of his past. When Ares attacks Athens, Kratos is ordered to stop the God of War and begins a violent journey through ancient temples, mythological ruins, and the challenges surrounding Pandora’s Box.

The game combines cinematic hack-and-slash combat with platforming, puzzles, large-scale boss encounters, and a story inspired by Greek mythology. Kratos uses the chained Blades of Chaos as his main weapons and gains magical powers from the gods during the journey.

How the Gameplay Works
Combat allows light and heavy attacks to be combined into chains, with grabs, launchers, aerial attacks, magic, and context-sensitive finishers adding variety. Red orbs upgrade weapons and abilities, while hidden upgrades increase maximum health and magic.

Between battles, players climb walls, cross beams, avoid traps, move objects, solve environmental puzzles, and navigate large ancient structures. Rage of the Gods provides a temporary power boost after its meter has been filled.
