Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault is a World War II first-person shooter focused on the Pacific theater. Players follow U.S. Marine Tommy Conlin from the attack on Pearl Harbor through jungle fighting, island assaults, airfield battles, and other operations against Japanese forces.
The campaign places emphasis on squad-based battlefield atmosphere, with fellow Marines accompanying Conlin through many missions. Dense jungle, fortified positions, beach landings, and close-range ambushes create a different style of combat from the European settings of earlier Medal of Honor games.
How the Gameplay Works
Players use period rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, pistols, grenades, and other weapons while advancing through objective-based missions. A corpsman can provide medical assistance a limited number of times, making health management different from simple health-pack collection.
Squad members participate in firefights and scripted operations, while certain missions include larger battlefield events and special sequences. The campaign mixes linear action with sections that allow limited freedom in how objectives are approached.
