Graveyard Keeper is a darkly comedic management RPG about a man unexpectedly transported to a strange medieval world and placed in charge of a neglected cemetery. Restoring the graveyard becomes only one part of a much larger routine involving farming, crafting, trade, religion, alchemy, questionable business decisions, and interactions with eccentric villagers.
Progression opens numerous interconnected production systems, allowing raw materials to be processed through workshops into increasingly useful goods. The game intentionally combines ordinary management tasks with morally questionable methods of increasing efficiency.
How the Gameplay Works
Players receive bodies, prepare graves, improve corpse condition, and decorate the cemetery to raise its rating. At the same time, wood, stone, metal, crops, and other materials are gathered and processed through crafting stations.
Weekly NPC schedules determine when certain quests and activities are available. Research generates technology points used to unlock new crafting, farming, anatomy, theology, and alchemy options, gradually expanding the number of systems the player can manage.
