Hard West 1 is a turn-based tactical strategy game set in a dark supernatural Wild West where gunfighters, cults, demons, and curses exist alongside frontier towns and outlaw violence. The campaign is divided into connected scenarios following several characters.
The game uses familiar cover-based tactics but adds unusual mechanics such as Luck, ricochets, and occult powers. Luck can protect characters from some attacks but is depleted when it does, creating another resource to manage.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move characters between cover positions, fire pistols and rifles, use special abilities, and exploit line of sight. Ricochet shots can reach enemies who appear protected from direct fire.
Between tactical battles, players make story choices, travel between locations, and equip cards or items that alter character statistics. The campaign’s supernatural events give each scenario a different tone while preserving the same careful positioning and risk management. The progression becomes more engaging once turn-based wild west tactics, supernatural setting, and cover and line-of-sight combat begin to overlap.
