Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban follows Harry, Ron, and Hermione during their third year at Hogwarts as escaped prisoner Sirius Black appears to pose a threat to Harry. Strange events surrounding Dementors, Professor Lupin, and Black’s connection to Harry’s family gradually turn the school year into another major mystery.
A major change from earlier games is the ability to use all three members of the central trio during the adventure. Harry, Ron, and Hermione have different magical abilities, allowing puzzles and obstacles to be designed around cooperation between the characters.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore Hogwarts and complete spell challenges, platforming sections, puzzles, and story objectives. Character switching allows the abilities of Harry, Ron, and Hermione to be used when a particular obstacle cannot be solved by another member of the group.
New spells include abilities used to manipulate objects or travel through the environment, while Harry eventually uses Expecto Patronum against Dementors. Certain sections also introduce magical creatures and alternate forms of traversal away from ordinary castle exploration.
