Hitman: Blood Money is a third-person stealth action game that follows professional assassin Agent 47 as he carries out a series of high-profile contracts while his agency comes under increasing pressure from a rival organization. Missions take place across locations such as theaters, hotels, suburbs, casinos, parties, and heavily guarded estates, with each assignment giving players a target and considerable freedom in deciding how to eliminate them.
The game is built around observation, disguise, timing, and experimentation rather than direct combat. Players can study guard routines, steal clothing to enter restricted areas, arrange accidents, hide bodies, or use weapons when a quieter approach is not possible. Missions reward clean and unnoticed assassinations, while the money earned from contracts can be used to improve equipment and purchase upgrades.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control Agent 47 from a third-person perspective and enter open-ended mission areas containing guards, civilians, security systems, targets, and numerous environmental opportunities. Disguises allow access to different sections of a level, although suspicious behavior can cause guards to investigate. Targets can be eliminated using firearms, fiber wire, poison, explosives, accidents, or objects found around the environment, giving most missions several possible solutions.
Blood Money introduces a Notoriety system that reacts to how visibly the player completes contracts. Witnesses, unnecessary killings, and evidence can increase Agent 47’s public profile, potentially making later missions more difficult. Players can spend earned money to reduce notoriety or upgrade weapons with suppressors, scopes, larger magazines, and other improvements. After each mission, performance is rated based on factors such as witnesses, violence, and how effectively the assassination was completed.
