About This Game:
Ikai is a first-person psychological horror game inspired by Japanese folklore. Players take the role of Naoko, a shrine maiden who finds herself alone at a Shinto shrine while supernatural creatures and disturbing events begin invading the surrounding area.

Rather than giving the player conventional weapons, the game emphasizes vulnerability, exploration, and carefully performing spiritual rituals. Yokai and other folklore-inspired entities provide much of the horror.

How the Gameplay Works
Players explore the shrine and nearby locations while searching for items, solving puzzles, and uncovering what is happening. When dangerous spirits appear, hiding and avoiding detection are often the only safe options.

Protective seals must sometimes be drawn manually using careful mouse or controller movements, leaving Naoko exposed while the ritual is completed. Environmental clues and documents provide additional context for the supernatural events.
