About This Game:
The Conquest of Go is a strategy game built around the ancient board game Go, combining traditional matches with a map-based campaign. Players capture territory on a larger strategic layer by winning games of Go.
The game teaches and supports normal Go rules while adding a progression structure that gives each match a broader purpose.
How the Gameplay Works
Players place black or white stones on intersections, surround territory, capture opposing groups, and compete for the highest final score. Campaign battles represent control over regions.
AI opponents of different strengths provide practice, while online play and analysis tools support players who want to improve. The campaign makes repeated Go matches feel connected without changing the underlying rules of the board game. The progression becomes more engaging once traditional go gameplay, map-based conquest campaign, and ai opponents begin to overlap. Early sections introduce them separately, but later challenges expect the player to combine those ideas more efficiently. online play adds another consideration that can change priorities, so learning how the systems support one another becomes more useful than repeating the same early strategy. Although the game keeps its systems limited, traditional go gameplay, map-based conquest campaign, and ai opponents provide the main sources of progression and give players a clear reason to refine their approach over repeated stages or attempts.
