About This Game:
Jagged Alliance 2 Gold is a tactical strategy RPG centered on liberating the fictional country of Arulco from the rule of Queen Deidranna. Players hire a group of mercenaries and begin capturing territory one sector at a time while helping the resistance regain control of towns, mines, military installations, and other important locations.
Every mercenary has individual skills, equipment preferences, personality traits, relationships, and salary requirements. Building an effective team therefore means considering more than combat statistics, as certain mercenaries may work well together while others strongly dislike one another.
How the Gameplay Works
A strategic map is used to move squads between sectors, manage contracts, train militia, and organize equipment. When enemies are encountered, gameplay switches to detailed turn-based combat where action points are spent on movement, aiming, shooting, changing stance, using items, and other actions.
Captured mines provide income that helps pay mercenary salaries and purchase equipment. Town loyalty, medical treatment, weapon condition, ammunition, injuries, and character skills must also be managed during the campaign. The Gold edition includes the expanded content associated with Unfinished Business alongside Jagged Alliance 2.
