Jupiter Hell is a turn-based roguelike shooter set on the moons of Jupiter, where a lone marine fights through facilities overrun by demonic creatures. It combines the tactical decision-making of a traditional roguelike with firearms, armor, cover, explosives, and a fast control scheme designed to keep turns moving quickly.
Levels change between runs, equipment must be scavenged from the environment, and death can end the current character permanently. Different traits and weapon specializations allow new builds to develop as players descend through increasingly dangerous locations.
How the Gameplay Works
Every movement, attack, reload, or other action advances the turn, after which nearby enemies respond. This allows players to stop and consider positioning whenever necessary while still making combat feel immediate when commands are entered quickly.
Weapons use different ammunition and behave differently at various ranges, while cover, line of sight, armor, and enemy positioning affect survival. Level-ups unlock traits that can specialize characters around rifles, pistols, shotguns, melee combat, defense, movement, and other tactical approaches.
