The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is an action-adventure game based primarily on J.R.R. Tolkien’s first Lord of the Rings novel. The journey follows Frodo Baggins and his companions as they leave the Shire and begin the dangerous mission to carry the One Ring toward Mordor.
The adventure visits recognizable locations including the Shire, Old Forest, Moria, and other parts of Middle-earth. Different playable characters provide a mixture of exploration, combat, stealth, and magical abilities rather than relying on one type of action throughout the entire game.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control Frodo, Aragorn, and Gandalf during different parts of the story. Frodo relies heavily on exploration, stealth, and the Ring, Aragorn is suited to direct sword combat, while Gandalf can combine his staff with magical powers.
Levels include environmental exploration, conversations, item collection, puzzles, and fights against creatures such as Orcs and other servants of the Enemy. Objectives follow major events from the Fellowship’s journey while also including additional encounters designed for the game.
