Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm-driven first-person shooter where combat becomes more powerful when attacks are performed in time with heavy metal music. Players control the Unknown, a half-demon warrior fighting through the domains of Hell to recover what was taken from her and confront the Red Judge.
The soundtrack is directly connected to performance. Maintaining the beat increases the player’s Fury multiplier and gradually adds more layers to the music, eventually bringing full vocals into the track as combat reaches its most intense state.
How the Gameplay Works
Players shoot, reload, dash, and perform finishing attacks while following the rhythm indicator around the crosshair. Actions timed correctly to the beat deal greater damage and maintain the score multiplier, while missed timing reduces momentum.
Each weapon has a different firing rhythm, requiring players to learn how revolvers, shotguns, blades, and other tools fit into the soundtrack. Defeating weakened enemies with finishing moves can restore health. Levels end with major encounters, while score challenges encourage replaying stages to improve timing and rankings.
