LUNARK is a cinematic science-fiction platformer inspired by the rotoscoped adventure games of the early 1990s. Players follow Leo, a courier living under a totalitarian regime who becomes caught in a conflict connected to humanity’s past and the secrets surrounding the distant world where civilization now exists.

Its pixel-art presentation deliberately recreates the dramatic animation and carefully framed scenes associated with classic cinematic platformers while providing a new setting, story, and cast of characters.

How the Gameplay Works
Leo can run, jump, hang from ledges, climb, roll, interact with machinery, and use firearms when confronting hostile forces. Movement is animation-driven and deliberate, meaning distances and timing need to be judged more carefully than in faster arcade platformers.

Levels mix platforming with environmental puzzles, conversations, stealth-like sequences, and gunfights. Cutscenes and dialogue advance the story between gameplay sections, while different environments introduce hazards that require careful use of Leo’s available movement abilities.
