Moonscars is a dark 2D action game about Grey Irma, a clayborne warrior searching for her creator and the truth behind her existence. Its ruined world is filled with hostile creatures, corrupted warriors, and cryptic characters whose stories gradually reveal more about sacrifice, identity, and immortality.
The game uses a grim painterly pixel-art style and focuses heavily on demanding melee combat. Checkpoints, recoverable resources, character upgrades, and difficult bosses give the adventure several qualities associated with Souls-inspired games.
How the Gameplay Works
Irma attacks with a sword, parries incoming blows, dodges through danger, and spends Ichor on special Witchery abilities. Learning enemy attack timing is essential because reckless combinations can leave her exposed to heavy counterattacks.
Death returns Irma to a checkpoint and can leave behind resources that must be recovered. New abilities and upgrades improve survivability, while interconnected regions contain optional paths, secrets, and increasingly aggressive enemies.
