About This Game:
OCTOPATH TRAVELER is a turn-based RPG that follows eight protagonists, each beginning with a separate personal story in the world of Orsterra. Players choose an initial hero and gradually recruit the other travelers while moving through towns, wilderness areas, caves, ruins, and character-specific chapters.
The game combines pixel-art characters with detailed 3D environments in its distinctive HD-2D visual style. Each protagonist also has a unique Path Action that can be used on NPCs outside combat to gather information, challenge people, purchase items, guide characters, or perform other interactions.
How the Gameplay Works
Battles use a turn-based system built around enemy weaknesses and a Break mechanic. Striking a weakness reduces an enemy’s shield points, eventually breaking them and leaving them vulnerable, while Boost Points can be saved and spent to strengthen attacks or abilities.
Secondary jobs allow characters to access additional skill sets, making party builds highly flexible. Side quests, optional dungeons, hidden jobs, powerful bosses, equipment, and character stories provide substantial content beyond the initial routes.
