BIT.TRIP RERUNNER is a rhythm-platformer that rebuilds the original BIT.TRIP RUNNER concept with new visuals, extra content, and a level editor. CommanderVideo automatically runs forward while the player performs actions in time with the music to survive obstacle-filled stages.
The game turns platforming into a musical sequence. Jumps, kicks, slides, springs, and other actions trigger sounds that become part of the track, so a successful run feels like performing the level rather than simply crossing it.
How the Gameplay Works
Players time jumps over gaps, duck under obstacles, kick barriers, use springboards, and respond to increasingly complex patterns without controlling forward movement. Missing an obstacle sends the player back, making memorization and rhythm equally important.
RERUNNER includes recreated classic stages alongside new challenges and community-building tools. The level editor allows players to place obstacles and create their own rhythmic courses, while collectibles and perfect-run goals provide reasons to replay stages after simply reaching the end. The experience remains focused on rhythm-based auto-running platformer, but it gains depth from actions synchronized with music and rebuilt classic bit.trip stages as more of the game opens up. By the time new challenges and collectibles becomes a regular part of progression, players usually have several ways to solve problems, improve performance, or prepare for the next challenge.
