OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast is an arcade racing game centered on high-speed Ferrari driving, long powerslides, branching roads, and scenic routes rather than realistic circuit simulation. Players race through beaches, mountains, cities, forests, and other colorful locations while attempting to reach checkpoints before time runs out.
The game combines material from OutRun 2 and OutRun 2 SP with a larger Coast 2 Coast progression mode. Licensed Ferrari vehicles provide different performance characteristics while retaining the responsive drift-heavy handling associated with modern OutRun.
How the Gameplay Works
Cars automatically maintain an arcade-friendly sense of speed, while players steer, brake, accelerate, and initiate controlled drifts through long corners. At intersections, routes branch toward different stages, allowing several possible journeys through a single run.
Coast 2 Coast mode introduces missions involving races, passenger requests, time challenges, overtaking, drifting, and other objectives. Successful performance earns progression rewards and provides access to additional cars and content. Heart Attack challenges add special tasks requested by the passenger while driving.
