Overlord: Raising Hell expands the original Overlord with additional areas while retaining its darkly comedic action-strategy gameplay. Players control an armored Overlord who commands groups of mischievous minions while rebuilding his tower and spreading influence across a fantasy world.
Four minion types specialize in different jobs: Browns excel at direct combat, Reds use fire, Greens favor stealth and poison, and Blues can cross water and revive fallen minions. Effective command depends on using the right group for each obstacle.
How the Gameplay Works
The Overlord fights directly with weapons and magic while minions are swept toward enemies, objects, and interactive locations using a command system. Minions can carry treasure, equip items they find, operate mechanisms, and sacrifice themselves when necessary.
Player choices can lean toward ordinary evil or more destructive corruption, affecting parts of the story and world. Raising Hell adds new Abyss areas with their own enemies, puzzles, and challenges beyond the original campaign.
