About This Game:
Prince of Persia is a 2008 reimagining of the series featuring a new Prince, a new world, and a different mythology from the Sands of Time trilogy. After becoming lost in a desert storm, the Prince meets Princess Elika and becomes involved in a struggle against the dark god Ahriman, whose corruption is spreading across a once-beautiful kingdom.
The adventure uses a stylized visual presentation and focuses strongly on fluid traversal through open interconnected regions. Elika accompanies the Prince throughout the journey and plays an active role in platforming, combat, story conversations, and restoring corrupted lands.
How the Gameplay Works
The Prince can wall run, climb, swing from poles, slide along surfaces, leap between structures, and use metal rings to extend certain movements. Elika can magically assist jumps, rescue the Prince after failed platforming attempts, and activate special plates that launch the pair through environmental sequences.
Corrupted regions can be approached in a relatively flexible order. After defeating the enemy protecting an area, Elika can heal the land, transforming the environment and making Light Seeds available for collection. Combat generally focuses on individual enemies and uses combinations of sword attacks, gauntlet moves, acrobatics, and Elika’s magic.
