Project Downfall is a fast retro-styled first-person action game set in a violent cyberpunk city where the protagonist leads an ordinary corporate life by day and becomes a heavily armed vigilante after dark. The story combines dark humor, social satire, branching decisions, and deliberately brutal encounters.
Combat is designed around short, deadly fights where both the player and enemies can be eliminated quickly. This creates a rhythm based on entering a room, identifying threats, using available weapons efficiently, and restarting rapidly when a plan goes wrong.
How the Gameplay Works
Players use pistols, shotguns, automatic weapons, melee attacks, thrown objects, and environmental opportunities to clear hostile areas. Ammunition is limited, encouraging weapons to be taken from defeated enemies instead of relying on one firearm throughout a level.
Special pills can alter the protagonist’s combat performance, while score systems reward aggressive and skillful play. Decisions made through the story contribute to different routes and endings, giving the campaign replay value beyond improving mission performance.
