About This Game:
Relooted is an Africanfuturist heist adventure about reclaiming real African artifacts being kept inside Western museums. Players take control of Nomali and gradually build a crew made up of ordinary people from different African countries, each bringing useful abilities to increasingly complicated operations. The objective is not simply to enter a museum unnoticed but to prepare an escape carefully enough that the stolen artifact can be carried out before security closes in.
The artifacts featured in the game are based on real objects with cultural, historical, and spiritual significance. A futuristic version of Johannesburg acts as part of the wider setting, while the crew grows to include characters with very different backgrounds and specialties.
How the Gameplay Works
Each heist begins with preparation. Players investigate potential escape routes, solve environmental puzzles, deal with obstacles, and determine where crew members should be positioned. Different teammates provide specialized abilities, so choosing the right person for each part of the plan can make the eventual escape much easier.
Taking the artifact begins a countdown and changes the mission into a fast escape sequence. Nomali uses flow-based parkour to race through the route prepared earlier, moving across obstacles and trying to reach safety before time runs out. Poor planning can force players to improvise when the carefully arranged escape begins falling apart.
