rFactor is a racing simulation designed around realistic vehicle behavior, extensive customization, and support for many different forms of motorsport. Rather than focusing on one licensed championship, the game provides a flexible simulation platform capable of supporting open-wheel cars, touring vehicles, prototypes, and other racing categories.
Its physics and setup systems are aimed at players who want greater control over vehicle behavior than a typical arcade racer provides. A strong modding foundation also allows community-created cars, tracks, championships, and other additions to greatly expand the available content.
How the Gameplay Works
Players compete on circuits while managing braking points, throttle application, steering, tire grip, and vehicle balance. Different cars can behave very differently, requiring driving techniques to change according to power, weight, aerodynamics, and track conditions.
