About This Game:
Hack_me is a computer hacking simulation presented through a fictional desktop and command-line environment. Players take on a series of assignments involving digital systems and corporate servers while following a scenario built around demonstrating that supposedly secure networks can still contain weaknesses.
Instead of controlling a character through a physical world, most of the experience takes place through software interfaces. Programs, terminals, files, and simulated network tools create the appearance of performing computer operations from inside the player’s own virtual workstation.
How the Gameplay Works
Players receive objectives and use the game’s fictionalized command-line tools and applications to progress through target systems. Different tasks introduce additional programs and techniques within the simulation, requiring players to understand which tool is appropriate for the current objective.
Information gathered from one system can provide what is needed to reach another, turning the campaign into a sequence of connected digital puzzles. Progress unlocks new assignments as the player becomes involved with increasingly important targets.
