Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person roguelike shooter where survivors fight through increasingly dangerous alien environments while collecting items that dramatically change their builds. Each run starts simple but quickly escalates as enemies become stronger over time.
Stages are partially randomized, and players must locate a teleporter, activate it, survive the resulting event, and move to the next area. Items stack without a strict inventory limit, allowing unusual combinations to become extremely powerful.
How the Gameplay Works
Each survivor has a distinct set of attacks, movement abilities, cooldowns, and combat roles. Gold earned during a run is spent on chests, shrines, drones, and other interactable objects that provide items or temporary advantages.
Difficulty rises continuously with time, creating pressure between exploring for more loot and moving quickly to the next stage. Multiplayer lets several players combine character abilities and item builds while facing larger enemy groups and bosses.
