About This Game:
Sable is an open-world exploration adventure following a young woman undertaking the Gliding, a coming-of-age journey in which she travels beyond her home and decides what kind of life she wants to pursue. The desert world is filled with ancient ruins, scattered communities, unusual machines, crashed ships, and people following many different occupations.
There is no traditional combat system. The experience instead focuses on discovery, climbing, traversal, environmental puzzles, conversations, and learning about the cultures and history of the world at the player’s own pace.
How the Gameplay Works
Sable travels across large desert regions on a customizable hoverbike and can climb most surfaces using a stamina meter. A protective gliding ability slows long falls and makes it possible to cross gaps or descend safely from tall structures.
Completing quests for different groups earns badges associated with professions. Collecting enough badges allows Sable to receive masks representing those paths, and exploration remains largely self-directed until the player decides how to conclude the Gliding.
