Session: Skate Sim is a realistic skateboarding simulation designed around the feel and culture of street skating rather than traditional arcade-style scoring. Inspired heavily by the skate scene of the 1990s, the game places players in large urban locations filled with rails, stairs, ledges, ramps, gaps, and recognizable real-world skate spots. There is no constant score counter telling players which line is best, leaving creativity and personal style at the center of the experience.
Its control system is deliberately demanding, with each analog stick representing one of the skater’s feet. Equipment also goes beyond cosmetic customization, as different skateboard components can influence how the board behaves. Clothing, decks, wheels, trucks, and other items allow players to personalize both appearance and skating setup.
How the Gameplay Works
Players manipulate each foot independently using the two analog sticks, combining movements to perform ollies, flips, grinds, slides, manuals, and other skateboarding techniques. Weight transfer, board positioning, approach angle, and timing all matter, making even basic tricks require more practice than they would in an arcade skating game.
Instead of chasing high scores, players explore locations and create their own lines by linking tricks across natural street obstacles. Challenges provide money that can be spent on customization items and equipment. A built-in replay and video editor allows successful runs to be filmed afterward using different camera positions, lenses, filters, fields of view, and times of day.
