About This Game:
Shogun: Total War Warlord Edition combines the original Shogun: Total War with its Mongol Invasion expansion. Players take command of a clan during Japan’s Sengoku period and attempt to unite the country through military conquest, diplomacy, economic management, and strategic planning.

Campaign decisions are made on a turn-based map, while battles shift into real time and place hundreds or thousands of soldiers directly under the player’s command. The expansion also introduces the Mongol invasion of Japan as a separate historical conflict.

How the Gameplay Works
On the campaign map, players recruit armies, construct buildings, manage provinces, move agents, arrange diplomacy, and decide where to attack or defend. When opposing armies meet, the battle can be resolved automatically or fought manually.

Real-time battles involve positioning infantry, cavalry, archers, and other units while considering morale, terrain, formation, and flanking. Generals and unit discipline can be just as important as simple numerical superiority.
