About This Game:
Sonic Generations celebrates different eras of the Sonic series by bringing Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic together in one adventure. A mysterious creature disrupts time, pulling familiar locations and characters from throughout Sonic’s history into a strange white void.
Stages reinterpret areas from older Sonic games with updated layouts and visuals. Classic Sonic focuses on side-scrolling platforming inspired by the original games, while Modern Sonic uses high-speed 3D movement mixed with shorter 2D sections.
How the Gameplay Works
Each major location normally contains separate acts for Classic and Modern Sonic. Classic stages emphasize jumping, spin attacks, momentum, and alternate routes, while Modern stages add boosting, homing attacks, rail grinding, quick stepping, and rapid transitions between perspectives.
Completing main stages opens challenge missions that modify objectives or mechanics. Progress eventually leads to rival encounters and boss fights based on characters and events drawn from different periods of the franchise.
