About This Game:
Stranglehold is a cinematic third-person shooter created as a continuation of John Woo’s action film Hard Boiled. Chow Yun-fat returns as Inspector Tequila Yuen, who becomes involved in a violent investigation stretching from Hong Kong to Chicago after the disappearance of a police officer and the growing conflict between criminal organizations.

The game is designed around the exaggerated gunplay associated with John Woo’s films. Firefights are filled with slow-motion dives, dual-wielded pistols, environmental destruction, exploding objects, and acrobatic movements that allow Tequila to continue shooting while performing cinematic stunts.

How the Gameplay Works
Players control Tequila from a third-person perspective while moving through combat-heavy levels filled with armed enemies. Tequila can dive through the air, slide across tables and counters, run along railings, swing from objects, and interact with parts of the environment without stopping his gunfire.

A slow-motion system known as Tequila Time activates during certain movements or can be triggered manually, giving players additional time to aim while surrounded by enemies. Destructible environments allow furniture, decorations, walls, and other objects to break apart during firefights. Special Tequila Bomb abilities provide additional combat options when enough energy has been earned.
