About This Game:
Surviving the Abyss is a deep-sea colony-building survival game set during the Cold War. Players oversee a secret scientific facility constructed on the ocean floor, where researchers are attempting controversial experiments far away from the surface world.
The crushing darkness outside the station hides both valuable resources and unknown dangers. Maintaining oxygen, power, food, living conditions, and a capable workforce becomes increasingly difficult as the base expands farther into unexplored sections of the abyss.
How the Gameplay Works
Players construct connected underwater buildings containing housing, research facilities, power systems, resource processing, and other essential infrastructure. Crew members require oxygen, food, and reasonable living conditions to remain productive.
Exploration submarines and outposts reveal additional resource deposits and points of interest beyond the initial base. Light is an important defensive factor because dangerous creatures inhabit the darkness. Research advances the scientific objective while also unlocking technologies needed to keep the growing facility operational.
