Talisman: Digital Classic Edition adapts the fourth edition of the long-running fantasy board game into a digital format. Each player controls an adventurer attempting to grow powerful enough to travel from the outer regions of the board toward its dangerous center. Warriors, wizards, monsters, magical objects, followers, spells, and unpredictable events can all change the course of a match.
A large part of the experience comes from uncertainty. Dice rolls determine movement and many encounters, meaning even a powerful character can suddenly find themselves in trouble. Character abilities and collected equipment provide ways to improve the odds, but reaching the center before rival adventurers remains a mixture of planning, risk, and luck.
How the Gameplay Works
Players roll dice to move around the board before resolving the instructions or encounters found on the space where they land. Adventure cards can reveal enemies, objects, followers, locations, and other events. Winning battles and completing encounters helps characters gain Strength, Craft, equipment, and abilities needed for more dangerous regions.
Eventually, sufficiently powerful characters can attempt to move inward toward the final areas of the board. Other players are pursuing the same objective and can interfere through combat, spells, or other effects. Matches can be played against computer-controlled opponents or with other players through supported multiplayer modes.
