Theseus Protocol is a deckbuilding roguelike set in the dystopian Mark City, where powerful organizations, criminal groups, and hidden conspiracies shape the lives of its residents. Players uncover the city’s fragmented story across repeated runs while controlling characters with different combat styles and personal narrative threads.
The game combines card-based tactics with positional combat and weapon systems. Instead of simply exchanging damage, players can move characters and enemies around the battlefield, use attacks that interact with positions, and turn unused cards into ammunition for equipped weapons.
How the Gameplay Works
During turn-based battles, cards provide attacks, movement, defensive actions, status effects, and tactical combinations. Enemy intentions can be considered when choosing where to stand, and forced movement can cause enemies to collide or end up in dangerous positions.
Runs provide opportunities to add, remove, or improve cards and shape the deck around a particular strategy. Multiple playable characters change how cards and weapons work, while branching routes and repeated attempts reveal additional parts of Mark City’s story.
