Viscerafest is a fast science-fiction and fantasy arena shooter starring Caroline, an extremely violent mercenary who wants enough money to marry her boyfriend, Athens Fetter. A valuable bounty placed on a powerful warlock gives her the opportunity she needs, sending Caroline through a long series of battles against aliens, monsters, soldiers, and increasingly bizarre enemies.
The game takes strong inspiration from fast shooters of the 1990s while combining them with modern movement and arena combat. Its campaign travels through numerous levels filled with hidden areas, resources, enemies, and weapons designed for aggressive close-range action.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move rapidly through first-person environments while jumping, dodging, and using a varied arsenal against groups of enemies. Ammunition and health are limited enough that resources still need to be considered despite the aggressive pace of combat.
Levels reward exploration with hidden items and secrets, while enemy combinations become more demanding as the campaign continues. Mastering movement and choosing suitable weapons for each situation becomes increasingly important during crowded arena encounters.
