About This Game:
The Apothecary of Trubiz is a compact puzzle game where understanding an invented language is the key to successfully treating patients. The player works as an apothecary with access to a medical manual, but every important instruction inside it has been written in unfamiliar fictional words.
Patients arrive with different conditions, forcing the player to gradually translate the manual, prepare appropriate medicine, and determine whether previous assumptions were actually correct. Mistakes become part of the learning process and can even lead toward different outcomes.
How the Gameplay Works
Players study repeated words and contextual clues in the manual before entering their own translations. Once a word has been understood, matching instances can automatically fill in, slowly transforming unreadable instructions into useful information.
Medicines are mixed according to the translated directions and then prescribed to patients. Discoveries and translation knowledge carry into later attempts, allowing each run to build on what was previously learned and eventually open multiple endings.
