About This Game:
The Last Caretaker is a first-person survival crafting game set on an Earth almost entirely covered by ocean. Players awaken as the final functioning Caretaker, a machine created to preserve humanity by recovering human seeds and preparing them for a future beyond the ruined planet.
The drowned world contains abandoned facilities, wreckage, forgotten technology, underwater locations, and infrastructure left behind by humanity. Restoring the Lazarus Complex and eventually launching new humans toward orbit requires rebuilding systems that have been inactive for years.
How the Gameplay Works
Players travel across the ocean, scavenge abandoned structures, dismantle machinery, and recycle recovered materials. Resources are turned into tools, weapons, power networks, modules, and other equipment needed to maintain the larger mission.
Human seeds must be recovered and developed while machines and infrastructure are repaired around them. Hostile systems and rogue machines create combat threats, while long-term progression involves restoring launch facilities and sending the humans raised by the Caretaker into space.
