Isonzo is a tactical World War I first-person shooter focused on the Italian Front. Battles take place across Alpine valleys, mountain fortifications, trenches, villages, and high-altitude positions inspired by historical campaigns between Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces.
The game emphasizes objective-based team play rather than small arena deathmatches. Large maps are divided into sectors that attackers must capture or destroy while defenders establish positions, fortify areas, and slow the advance.
How the Gameplay Works
Players choose classes with specialized equipment, including rifles, machine guns, grenades, mortars, sniper weapons, engineering tools, and officer abilities. Weapon handling is deliberately slower and deadlier than an arcade shooter, making positioning and cover important.
Officers can call in support such as artillery or reconnaissance, while engineers build defenses and cut wire.
