About This Game:
The Pale Beyond is a narrative survival game about an Antarctic expedition that becomes stranded when its ship is trapped in the ice. After the expedition’s leader disappears, responsibility for the crew falls onto the player, who must make difficult decisions while attempting to survive the long polar winter.
The story focuses heavily on leadership, morale, scarce supplies, and relationships between crew members. Survival is not simply about keeping resources above zero; maintaining the trust of the people under your command is equally important.
How the Gameplay Works
Each week players allocate food and fuel, assign crew to tasks, manage injuries and sickness, and decide how limited resources should be used. Hunting and other expeditions may provide vital supplies but can also expose crew members to additional dangers.
Narrative events frequently present choices without a perfect solution. Decisions influence loyalty, crew survival, available options, and the direction of the expedition as the group attempts to endure worsening conditions.
