About This Game:
Soulash is a traditional turn-based roguelike that reverses the usual fantasy story by placing players in control of a forgotten god determined to destroy the living world. Instead of rescuing villagers or stopping an ancient evil, the objective is to consume souls, rebuild divine power, and potentially eliminate every civilization standing in the way.
The open world contains villages, cities, dwarven strongholds, deserts, temples, farms, gods, monsters, and ordinary inhabitants who continue existing until the player reaches them. Actions permanently alter the world, and even major environmental changes can occur as powerful beings are defeated.
How the Gameplay Works
Every movement or action advances a turn, allowing enemies to respond according to the same system. Combat uses a large selection of abilities influenced by the player’s profession, race, equipment, terrain, and weather conditions. Characters can specialize in melee combat, magic, necromancy, and numerous unconventional combinations.
Almost every defeated character drops the equipment they were using, making exploration and combat a major source of new items. Crafting activities include mining, fishing, harvesting, cooking, woodcutting, and butchering. Since dead inhabitants do not normally return, entire settlements can permanently disappear as the player’s destructive campaign progresses.
