Speed Brawl is a fast 2D combat game set in an alternate version of Victorian-era Britain where humanity has defeated an invading alien race and transformed the captured creatures into part of a new entertainment industry. Fighters now compete in a brutal sport where completing battles quickly is almost as important as surviving them.
The game mixes side-scrolling beat-’em-up combat with racing-style time challenges. A roster of fighters provides different combinations of speed, strength, range, and special abilities, encouraging players to create teams suited to each event.
How the Gameplay Works
Players run through stages and defeat groups of enemies using punches, kicks, launchers, aerial attacks, dodges, and character-specific abilities. Combat rewards maintaining momentum and moving quickly between targets instead of slowly clearing one opponent at a time.
Characters can be upgraded and equipped with new gear between events, while switching team members provides access to different combat strengths. Levels award rankings based partly on completion time, encouraging repeated attempts using stronger equipment and more efficient combinations. Cooperative play allows two players to fight together.
