About This Game:
Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power reunites Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief for another fantasy adventure filled with platforming, combat, and physics-based puzzles. Unlike the predominantly side-scrolling perspective of the earlier games, this installment brings the heroes into fully three-dimensional environments.
Each hero retains a different set of abilities, encouraging players to switch characters according to the obstacle ahead. Magical objects, dangerous creatures, environmental mechanisms, and elaborate fantasy locations provide the foundation for the journey.
How the Gameplay Works
Amadeus can manipulate objects with magic, Pontius specializes in physical combat and defensive abilities, while Zoya uses agility, arrows, and a grappling hook. Many puzzles require combining their skills, such as moving platforms into place before using another character to cross a gap.
The move into 3D gives players additional freedom to move around platforms and puzzle areas while retaining the series’ physics-driven interactions. Combat appears between exploration sections, and the adventure can be played alone by switching heroes or cooperatively with other players.
