About This Game:
True Crime Dilogy is a two-game collection containing True Crime: Streets of LA and True Crime: New York City. Both are open-world police action games that combine driving, shooting, hand-to-hand fighting, investigations, and criminal cases while placing the player on the other side of the law from a typical crime sandbox.
Streets of LA follows detective Nick Kang through a large recreation of Los Angeles, while New York City stars Marcus Reed as he investigates criminal organizations across Manhattan. Both games allow police work to become violent and chaotic, with the player’s behavior contributing to a good-cop or bad-cop reputation.
How the Gameplay Works
Players travel through open cities in vehicles, respond to street crimes, chase suspects, question or arrest criminals, and progress through story missions. Combat switches between firearms and martial arts, while driving sequences include pursuits and rapid movement between objectives.
The games also include optional incidents that occur around the city, giving players opportunities to improve their standing outside the main story. Decisions and performance can influence progression and story outcomes, particularly in Streets of LA, where the campaign contains branching paths.
