UFC: Sudden Impact is a mixed martial arts fighting game built around the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Its roster includes fighters using disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, karate, submission fighting, and other combat styles, allowing matches to move between striking, grappling, and ground fighting.
Alongside established UFC competitors, the game includes modes where players can create and develop their own fighter. Training and competition gradually improve the custom fighter before they attempt to earn a place among professional UFC opponents.
How the Gameplay Works
Fights take place inside the Octagon and allow punches, kicks, takedowns, grappling techniques, submissions, and ground attacks. Different button combinations control attacks with different limbs and provide access to grappling moves based on the fighter’s style.
Positioning near the cage can alter grappling situations, while successful takedowns can move a fight from standing exchanges to ground combat. Tournament and championship modes provide additional ways to compete outside the custom-fighter progression.
