About This Game:
War Wind is a real-time strategy game set on the alien world of Yavaun, where four very different races struggle over the planet’s future. The dominant Tha’Roon, industrial Obblinox, enslaved Eaggra, and mystical Shama’Li each have their own campaign, units, motivations, and approach to conflict.
Unlike many early RTS games built around nearly identical factions, War Wind gives its races distinct identities and allows individual units to develop. Workers can be trained into specialized professions, making the composition and preservation of a settlement important over the course of a mission.
How the Gameplay Works
Players gather resources, construct buildings, recruit workers, and train those workers into military or specialist roles. Units can gain experience, while biological and technological upgrades improve their effectiveness beyond simply producing larger armies.
Campaign missions include conventional battles as well as objectives involving exploration, rescue, infiltration, or specific strategic goals. Each faction’s unique roster and story changes which units and methods are most effective.
