About This Game:
UnderRail is an old-school isometric RPG set in a distant post-apocalyptic future where the surface of Earth can no longer support normal human life. The remaining population survives inside an enormous underground network of metro stations, tunnels, settlements, and forgotten facilities collectively known as the Underrail.
Players create their own character and become involved in conflicts between station communities, political groups, criminals, strange creatures, and other forces competing for survival beneath the surface. Exploration and character development are major parts of the experience, with many quests and areas allowing different approaches based on the skills chosen during character creation.
How the Gameplay Works
Exploration takes place from an isometric viewpoint, while combat uses a turn-based action point system. Players can develop characters around firearms, melee weapons, crossbows, stealth, traps, technological skills, psionic abilities, or combinations of several disciplines.
Quests often support different solutions depending on dialogue abilities, combat strength, technical knowledge, or exploration. Weapons, armor, ammunition, crafting materials, and useful equipment can be found or purchased throughout the underground world, allowing highly specialized character builds to develop over time.
