About This Game:
Vanaris Tactics is a compact turn-based tactical RPG about refugees attempting to escape the occupied homeland of Vanaris. Players follow Morgana, her brother Nigel, and their nephew Adrien as they gather allies and fight through military forces standing between them and freedom.
The game takes inspiration from classic grid-based strategy RPGs while keeping its campaign relatively focused. Different character classes and battlefield layouts encourage players to consider positioning, attack range, movement, and complementary abilities when forming a squad.
How the Gameplay Works
Battles take place on grid-based maps where characters move and act one at a time. Units use melee weapons, ranged attacks, spells, healing, and class abilities to defeat enemies while protecting more vulnerable party members.
Characters gain experience and improve throughout the campaign, while additional allies expand the available tactical options. Terrain and enemy placement make positioning important, particularly when trying to focus attacks without exposing the party to counterattacks.
