Verho – Curse of Faces is a first-person dark fantasy RPG inspired by classic dungeon crawlers such as King’s Field. The world has survived a catastrophe known as the Curse of Faces, where simply exposing a person’s face can result in immediate death. Masks have therefore become essential to humanity’s survival.
More than two centuries after the beginning of the Era of Solitude, travelers still venture into the land of Yariv looking for the origin of the curse. The player’s journey can ultimately revolve around either ending the affliction or pursuing the dangerous power connected to it.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore dark environments from a first-person perspective while fighting creatures, discovering equipment, interacting with characters, and uncovering routes through interconnected areas. Combat favors careful timing and preparation rather than extremely fast action.
Character development and equipment choices allow different approaches to weapons and magic. Exploration reveals lore about Yariv and its curse, while important decisions can shape what the protagonist eventually chooses to do with the knowledge uncovered.
